There will be an additional $25 fee for Non-Canadian association participants. \nEVENTS:\nEvents will be held in singles\, doubles and mixed doubles for U15\, U17 and U19 age categories. Badminton Canada will be utilizing the Tournament Software online registration system.\nConsolations will be held for all competitors defeated in their first-round match of the main event. It will be the responsibility of each athlete to notify the draw desk\, within 30-minutes of their opening round defeat. Consolation rounds offered time permitting. \nREFUNDS:\nRefunds are provided to participants\, less a 25% administration fee\, who withdraw prior to the entry deadline of the competition. After the entry deadline\, but before the draws are made\, refunds are provided less a 50% administration fee. Three-minute warm-up and ten-minute default will be strictly enforced. The use of protective eyewear is strongly recommended during play (not mandatory). \nCONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION:\nBadminton Canada will be following the 2018 BWF Calendar year for the entire 2017-18 season. Competition is open to athletes born 2005 or later (U15)\, 2003 or later (U17)\,2001 or later (U19). All participants in Junior Elite Series tournaments must be registered members of BCan or a Member Association of the Badminton World Federation (BWF) and provide their member ID upon online registration. \nThe registration fee to become a member of Badminton Canada will be an annual fee (Sept 1st-August 31st) and you must be a registered member in good standing with a BCan provincial membership organization in order to be a registered member of BCan.\n*Non-Canadian association participants will be charged an extra $25 fee for entering a tournament. \nThe maximum number of entrants is 160. Should the maximum entry be exceeded\, priority will be given to players/teams ranked in the top 10 in each event on the Canadian National ranking list. After the top 10 ranked players/teams in each event\, priority will be given to players based on their date of entry onto the tournament. Doubles and Mixed teams will be considered based on the latest entry date of the two partners. \nCLOTHING REGULATIONS:\nBWF Regulations and the Badminton Canada Competition Uniform Regulations shall be followed\nUse of protective eyewear is strongly recommended during play\, but is not required. \nCOACH CERTIFICATION:\nDeadline for registration as a coach is THE SAME AS THE REGISTRATION DEADLINE FOR ATHLETES. NS \nRegistration Deadline: Wednesday\, October 10th\, 2018 at 11:59\nWithdrawal Deadline: Wednesday\, October 10th 2018 at 11:59\nWithdrawals received prior to the withdrawal deadline will be subject to a 15% administration fee. Withdrawals after the withdrawal deadline and tournament no-shows will not be eligible for a refund. \nAll late entries will be DENIED \nEvents:\nU13\, U15\, U17 and Open. All Open athletes guaranteed 3 matches. \nOpen events will be using an “ABCD” format. All athletes start in the same round. For example\, all athletes wishing to play men’s singles should register for “MS”. Your division is selected based on the first two rounds of results \nPlayers may only register for a MAXIMUM OF 3 EVENTS and may only register for one level per event. E.g If you register for A Men’s Singles you may not register for B Men’s singles\, but you may register for B Men’s Doubles \nOrder of Play:\nAll matched will (Open and Junior) will begin 1pm\nDoubles will begin Saturday morning at 9am followed by Mixed Doubles \nAll A Finals\, B Finals\, Junior Finals and bronze medal matches will be played on Sunday.\nAnyone who is non-medically absent for a scheduled match after their first match of the tournament will lose all points accumulated in the tournament for that event. \nAll players should be present 30 minutes before the scheduled time of their match. Default time will be 10 minutes after first call \nEligibility:\nParticipants must have an active membership with their provincial organization. The competition will be conducted under the official rules of Badminton Canada. \nThe age group of the player will be based on the age of the player on the LAST DAY of the tournament. For example\, with the 2018 Yonex Scott Open tournament\, the players age on OCTOBER 21st will be used. So\, if a player is aged 15 years old on that day\, they will be able to play in U15. \nFees:\n1 Event $45\, 2 Events $60\, 3 events $75\nEntry fees are payable on-line at the time of registration. \nRegistration \nShuttles:\nAll events are feather shuttle.
