There will be an additional $30 fee for Non-Canadian association participants. \nORGANIZING COMMITTEE/OFFICIALS\nTournament Chair: Daryl Beers\nTournament Organizer:\nReferee:\nDeputy Referee: TBD\nBadminton Canada: Mike Luck-mikeluck@badminton.ca \nEVENTS:\nOpen events will be held in singles\, doubles and mixed doubles for both the MAIN DRAW\, and UNIVERSITY EVENT\, in addition to a WATERFALL FORMAT for consolations.\n• Each event (MS\, WS\, MD\, WD\, XD) will be conducted in a waterfall type format (ABCD). All athletes will begin the event in the A draw and fall to B-C-D Draw in a double-elimination style format. It will be the responsibility of each athlete to notify the draw desk\, within 30-minutes of their opening round defeat. \n• All players will receive National Ranking points related to their placing in the A Draw. \n• Badminton Canada will be utilizing the Tournament Software online registration system. \nREGISTRATION \nCONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION:\nAll participants in Elite Series tournaments must be registered members of BCan or a Member Association of the Badminton World Federation (BWF) and provide their member ID upon online registration. \nThe registration fee to become a member of Badminton Canada will be an annual fee (Sept 1st-August 31st) and you must be a registered member in good standing with a BCan provincial membership organization in order to be a registered member of BCan.\n*Non-Canadian association participants will be charged an extra $15 fee for entering a tournament. \nThe maximum number of entrants is 150. Should the maximum entry be exceeded\, priority will be given to players/teams ranked in the top 10 in each event on the Canadian National ranking list. After the top 10 ranked players/teams in each event\, priority will be given to players based on their date of entry onto the tournament. Doubles and Mixed teams will be considered based on the latest entry date of the two partners. \nREFUNDS/WITHDRAW PENALTY:\nRefunds are provided to participants\, less a 25% administration fee\, who withdraw prior to the entry deadline of the competition.\nAfter the entry deadline\, but before the draws are made\, refunds are provided less a 50% administration fee.\nRefunds will not be provided for withdrawals after the draws have been made.\nFor athletes who chose to withdraw from any event after the late registration deadline will be withdrawn from all events the athlete has registered to participate in. \nSEEDING & DRAWS\nSeeding done by Badminton Canada’s Seeding Committee and draws according to the BCAN regulations \nTOURNAMENT RULES:\nThe 21-Rally Point scoring format will be utilized. Three-minute warm-up and ten-minute default will be strictly enforced. The use of protective eyewear is strongly recommended during play (not mandatory). \nCLOTHING REGULATIONS:\nBWF Regulations and the Badminton Canada Competition Uniform Regulations shall be followed\nUse of protective eyewear is strongly recommended during play but is not required. \nCOACH CERTIFICATION:\nDeadline for registration as a coach is THE SAME AS THE REGISTRATION DEADLINE FOR ATHLETES.
