Please do NOT take these as times that the matches will begin. \nDirections:\nThe Bridgewater Junior High School is on York Street. Take highway 103 to exit 13. Turn toward Bridgewater off the exit ramp. At the second set of lights\, turn right on York St. At the first four-way stop\, go straight. The Bridgewater Junior High is the second brick building on your left. The gym entrance is at the main door on York St. \nThe YMCA is six blocks away. Go past the Jr. High School\, turn right at the first corner (Dominion St.) go to the top of the hill and turn right on High St.(at Tim Horton’s). The YMCA is on your left\, beside the NSCC. YMCA parking is at the back of the building. If you park in the NSCC parking lot\, you will probably be ticketed \nPLEASE NOTE: There will be NO canteen at the tournament. \nTimes:\nSaturday: warm-up and registration at 8:30\, singles at 9:00\, with doubles and mixed to follow. \nEligibility \nThis is an open tournament. No age restrictions or qualifications required. \nThe competition is open to all athletes who have an active membership with their provincial or territorial badminton association. The competition will be conducted under the official rules of Badminton Canada \nEvents:\nU13\, U15\, U17\, Open A\, Open B and Open C-MS\, WS\, MD\, WD\, XD. \nAge categories \nU13: born in 2008 or later\nU15: born in 2006 or later\nU17: born in 2004 or later \nEntry Fee: All participants must be members in good standing with their respective provincial organization. \n$25 for 1 event\, $30 for 2 events and $35 for 3 events \nRegistration\nRegistration deadline: Wednesday\, September 25th 2019 at 11:59 PM\nWithdrawal deadline: Wednesday\, September 25th 2019 at 11:59 PM \nShuttles:\nNylon provided for U13 and U15. DESCRIPTION:Sponsored by:\nYonex and Badminton Nova Scotia\nTime: Friday 1pm – 10pm\nSaturday 8am – 9pm\nSunday 9am – 1pm \nNOTE-Due to low registration numbers\, we will be moving to a 2 day tournament\, Saturday October 19 and Sunday October 20. \nFormat:\nSaturday: Warm up will start at 11am with play starting at 11:30am.\nSunday: Warm up 8am with play starting at 8:30am \nLocation: Canada Games Centre\, 26 Thomas Raddall Drive\, Halifax. NS \nRegistration \nRegistration Deadline: Wednesday\, October 9th\, 2019 at 11:59PM\nWithdrawal Deadline: Wednesday\, October 9th 2019 at 11:59PM\nLate entries will be accepted until Friday\, October 11th\, 2019 with an additional fee of $25 \nWithdrawals received prior to the withdrawal deadline will be subject to a 15% administration fee. Withdrawals after the withdrawal deadline and tournament no-shows will not be eligible for a refund. \nIf athletes fail to enter by the deadline\, they will be permitted entry until Friday with a $25 late fee; this structure is similar to the model used by Badminton Canada \nEvents:\nU15\, U19 and Open. All open athletes guaranteed 3 matches.\nOpen events will be using an “ABCD” waterfall format. All athletes start in the same round. For example\, all athletes wishing to play men’s singles should register for “MS”. Your division is selected based on the first two rounds of results.\nPlayers may only register for ONE SINGLES\, ONE DOUBLES AND ONE MIXED EVENT FOR A MAXIMUM TOTAL OF THREE DIFFERENT EVENTS FROM THE AGE BRACKETS. \nOrder of Play:\nJuniors will begin 1pm Friday\, Open will begin 4pm.\nDoubles will begin Saturday morning at 9am followed by Mixed Doubles. \nAnyone who is non-medically absent for a scheduled match after their first match of the tournament will lose all points accumulated in the tournament for that event.\nAll players should be present 30 minutes before the scheduled time of their match. Default time will be 10 minutes after first call. \nEligibility:\nParticipants must have an active membership with their provincial organization. The competition will be conducted under the official rules of Badminton Canada. \nFees:\nFor U15-Birth years-2006\, 2007\, 2008\, 2009 or later\n1 event $40\, 2 or 3 events $60 (20 Dollars will be refund when registration closed) \nFor U19-Birth Years-2002\, 2003\, 2004 & 2005 or later\n1 event $60\, 2 or 3 events $80 \nAdult or Open\n1 event $60\, 2 or 3 events $80 \nEntry fees are payable on-line at the time of registration. \nShuttles:\nAll events are feather shuttle. All match shuttles are included in entry fee. \nBNS Eyewear Policy:\nBNS strongly recommends all athletes wear protective eyewear \nNo food or drink (other than water) is permitted in the gym.
