Badminton Nova Scotia’s (BNS) mandate is to foster growth at all levels of play and promote the sport of badminton within the province. BNS is committed to supporting recreational, provincial, and competitive badminton activities which include adult and junior players of all calibres, from beginners to national level players.

After-school introduction to badminton program
Junior Programming

This fall BNS is pleased to work with local schools and PTA’s to offer an after-school introduction to badminton program in a safe & fun environment. Learn to love this fast and exciting sport in a fun and safe setting with certified and accomplished instructors. This program will teach the basics of badminton including a focus on the rules and grips, as well as the fundamental movement skills required for everyday lifelong enjoyment.

Classes at the Canada Games Centre
  • Age 5 – 8 Intro to Badminton Thursdays 5:00pm-5:45pm
  • Age 9 – 16 Intro to Badminton Thursdays, 5:45pm – 6:30pm
  • Age 9 – 16 Intermediate Thursdays, 6:30pm-7:30p

Programs run for 10 weeks and includes the following:

  • Children from ages 5-16
  • Certified Level 1 NCCP coach’s
  • Maximum of 1:6 coach/student ratio, limited to 18 per class
  • BNS provides all the gear; nets, shuttles, eyewear and racquets
  • Membership to BNS for deals on swag and future programming
