December News Letter
November was a thrilling month for Badminton Nova Scotia, filled with outstanding performances and milestone achievements!
The Scotia Series #2, hosted by JBTC, featured strong participation across all events. Highlighting the competition were Prahbjotvir Singh Sagoo, who triple-crowned in U19 Boys’ Singles, Boys’ Doubles, and Mixed Doubles, and Natalia Castas, who matched the feat by winning U17 Girls’ Singles, Girls’ Doubles, and Mixed Doubles. On the national stage, Tyler Luo earned a bronze medal in U17 Boys’ Singles at the Yonex Saskatchewan Junior Elite, showing incredible skill and determination. He narrowly fell in the semi-final to the eventual champion, solidifying his place among Canada’s rising stars.
Internationally, Ritu Shah made her debut at the 2024 Welsh Open. Shah impressed by winning three qualification rounds to secure her spot in the main draw. She put up a valiant fight in the first round, narrowly losing a hard-fought three-set match to Australia’s Faye Huo. Congratulations, Ritu, on a fantastic debut!
Badminton Nova Scotia is proud of all our athletes and their incredible efforts this past month.
Looking ahead, the first tournament of 2025 will take place from January 24th – 25th at JBTC. We look forward to seeing everyone back in action in the new year!
