Club Membership

There are many benefits of being a member club with Badminton Nova Scotia – from insurance, to promotion, to tournaments. We are actively looking for new clubs and opportunities for organized badminton to happen in our province so if you are interested in becoming a member club don’t hesitate to reach out to info@badmintons.ca for more information.


All club memberships are valid annually from September 1 to August 31.

Badminton Nova Scotia has two levels of club memberships to help fit the needs of different clubs across the province.

Club Membership – $200 Annual Fee

This membership is meant for clubs that run programs, practices, and training for junior or senior players and have coaches, administrators, volunteers and/or staff.

Some of the key benefits of being a Member Club of Badminton Nova Scotia include:
1. Liability and Directors Insurance for the club, staff, coaches and volunteers.
2. Accident/Injury Insurance for individuals doing badminton activities at the club.
2. $1,000,000 Insurance – certificate of insurance available upon request.
3. Listed on the Badminton NS website as a member in good standing.
4. Club will be listed on Tournament Software for players getting individual memberships to select.
5. Receive communications of upcoming tournaments and events from Badminton NS.
6. Ability to apply host BNS sanctioned Scotia Series tournaments (BCAN/BNS ranking tournaments).
7. Ability to use Tournament Software license through Badminton NS for the purposes of hosting your own tournaments.
8. Promotion of tournaments and events through the Badminton NS website and social media by request.

Requirements to be a BNS Member Club
1. Complete the Club Membership Form (below)
2. Pay the annual membership fee
3. Please ensure all active coaches at your club complete the BNS Coach Registration Form

Gameplay Club Membership – $100 Annual Fee

This membership is meant for groups that have organized playtimes or gametimes that have a consistent group of players or drop ins who book facilities on a regular basis to play badminton. These clubs likely do not have programs, practices, coaches or staff but require an organizer and certificate of insurance for booking purposes and/or liability/injury.

Please note: If this type of play time happens at a Member Club of BNS you may have some of these coverage through their club membership.

Some of the key benefits of being a Gameplay Club Member of Badminton Nova Scotia include:

1. Liability and Directors Insurance for the organizer, staff, or volunteers.
2. Accident/Injury Insurance for individuals doing badminton activities during the club times.
3. $1,000,000 Insurance – certificate of insurance available upon request.
4. Listed on the Badminton NS website club page as a member in good standing.
5. Receive communications of upcoming tournaments and events from Badminton NS.
6. Promotion of tournaments and events through the Badminton NS website and social media by request/availability.
7. Ability to use Tournament Software license through Badminton NS for the purposes of hosting a tournament.

Requirements to be a BNS Member Club
1. Complete the Club Membership Form (below)
2. Pay the annual membership fee
