Operations Update

Operations Update

March 10, 2021 Announcements 0

Members,

Due to the ongoing impacts of COVID 19 on communities and organizations and the ability to offer and operate regular programming, the Board of Badminton Nova Scotia has had to restructure and make the difficult decision to eliminate the position of Executive Director at the end of February.

Over the past 12+ years Jennifer Petrie has served as the backbone and Executive Director of Badminton Nova Scotia and we wish to acknowledge and thank her for the service and support she provided to the many duties and activities for which she was involved. For many, Jennifer was the voice at the end of the phone or the writer at the end of the email or text message as much of her work was done behind the scenes. She was the master of logistics, always making sure administration and operations were attended to as well as ensuring tournament volunteers were supplied with the resources and information they required to be successful. During Jennifer’s time with BNS she was instrumental in supporting the development of the Provincial Team Program, supported three Canada Games Teams (2011, 2015, 2019), supported the creation of the Badminton Atlantic Collaborative and the successful formation of the Atlantic Series of Tournaments with Badminton New Brunswick and Badminton PEI, supported the successful hosting of the Badminton Canada Masters National Championships in Halifax and supported the organization of annual Provincial and Atlantic Championship Events.

We would like to deeply thank Jennifer for her service and commitment to the volunteers, members and community that is Badminton Nova Scotia.

Best of success to you in all your future endeavours.

On Behalf of the Badminton Nova Scotia Board and Membership,

Robert Proctor

President (Volunteer)
